INFORMATION ON THE FORTHCOMING SIXTH MEETING OF THE SAPARD MONITORING COMMITTEE

The SAPARD Monitoring Committee holds its sixth meeting on December 12^th, 2003 (9:00 AM) in the Council of Ministers building (Press-Conference room) in Sofia with the following agenda:

• Opening of the meeting and adoption of the Agenda.
• Adoption of the Minutes of the 5th Monitoring Committee meeting, held July 10th, 2003
• Information on the implementation of the decisions, taken by the Monitoring Committee at its 5th meeting
• SAPARD Implementation progress:
  • Information on the progress in the implementation of accredited measures (on the basis of monitoring indicators): approved/rejected/reimbursed projects; data on “sensitive sectors”;
  • Report on results of controls carried out in/by the SAPARD Agency (internal audit; on-the-spot checks)
  • Information on the financial aspects of SAPARD implementation:
    • per accredited measures (in Bulgaria) and comparative analysis (by candidate country, participating in the Programme);
    • amount of accumulated interest in the SAPARD account at the National Fund.
  •   Forecast on the absorption of Budget 2000 and information on “projects-in-risk”
• Presentation and discussion of the conclusions and recommendations of the final draft of the SAPARD Mid-term evaluation report
• Information on the meetings of the permanent working groups of the Committee. Discussion of proposals to modify BNARDP measures and financial tables
• Information on the high-level conference on rural development, held in Salzburg 12-14th of November, 2003
• Any other business
  • Information on the implementation of the SAPARD Publicity Enhancement Strategy
  • Results of controls carried out
  • Setting the date for the next Committee meeting
• Closing the 6th meeting of the SAPARD Programme Monitoring Committee
